Wes Hightower being sworn in as a board member

Monday night's board meeting was full of smiles as we recognized many of the great things happening in Van ISD!!

  • The Van ISD Education Foundation presented a check to our district for $62,759.69 to fund 27 exciting new education grants for our teachers and students!

  • Our Van High School BBQ Team, "Rise & Swine", placed in the top 15 teams in the state of Texas, and they are headed to Nationals in Branson, Missouri in June! They also prepared a delicious meal for our board

    members and staff before the meeting!

  • Maddy Medcalf and Brynlee Garcia were the first Vandals to qualify for the UIL State Tennis Tournament since 2019!

  • Payton McKinney & Maloree Donica placed 2nd & 3rd respectively in the UIL State Prose Meet in Austin!

  • Our UIL Social Studies Team finished off their undefeated perfect season with another STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

  • Four long-time Van ISD staff members will retire at the end of this school year. Heidi Moore is retiring after 30 years in education, Amber Robertson is retiring after 29 years in education, Steve Clanton is retiring after 46 years in education, and Dana Peloquen is retiring after 23 years on our custodial staff! WOW!!!

    We are thankful for their service to our students!!!

  • Wes Hightower was sworn in as the newest member of our Van ISD Board of Trustees, after winning the election on May 4th!

  • Odie Phillips was sworn in as our new Director of School Safety and Chief of Police at Van ISD!

WOW!! THAT'S ALL WORTH CELEBRATING!!! We are proud of each of these students and staff members!
