J.E. Rhodes Elementary hosted their first Parent Night of the year on September 19th, with a very special performance from a local dance group, Folkloric Legacy of Mineola, to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!
This group includes of some of our very own #TeamVISD employees - Alberta Ramirez, Maria Landaverde, Berta Campa - and Van Middle School 5th grader, Misari Campa!
Parent Night gives our elementary school parents an opportunity to meet with their child's teacher, while their children are occupied outside with many fun activity stations run by our Van ISD staff members. To follow along with the Hispanic Heritage theme, students enjoyed making their own set of maracas, playing with Sphero robots, face painting by our VHS art students, and taking a swing at the piñata!
J.E. Rhodes plans to have more Parent Nights scheduled throughout the school year, to help increase our parent-teacher communication, and allow our parents to get more involved in what's happening at their child's school!
