Isaiah Colorado, Vandal Cross Country runner, and Coach Clanton pose together for a photo after Isaiah's race

Van High School junior, Isaiah Colorado, is headed to the UIL State Cross Country Meet in Round Rock, TX after qualifying at today's Regional Meet in Grand Prairie! Colorado placed 6th out of over 200 runners at today's meet, with a time of 17:00 minutes.

Colorado is a three-year varsity letterman for the Vandal Cross Country team, and has been competing for the Vandals since the 7th grade. Van High School Principal, Mr. Jake Roach, asked Isaiah in an interview what he loves most about being part of the Vandal Cross Country team, and Isaiah answered, "I just love running, it clears my head." He also added that he loves his team, which includes many of his friends, and he has enjoyed having Coach Clanton as his coach since junior high.

Isaiah has set a new personal record this season, running the 5K race in 15:58 minutes. When asked what he has done differently from last season, Colorado said, "I have been running more, and putting in more miles each week."

Today's results qualified him for the UIL State Cross Country Meet, which will take place on November 4th in Round Rock, TX. His goal is to finish in the Top 10 at the State Meet!

Good luck, Isaiah!
