Van ISD and Van Junior High are pleased to announce that Jeremy Whitten has been named principal, and Shannon Williams has been named assistant principal of VJH.

Mr. Whitten has been in education for 19 years, with 4 of those in Van ISD as assistant principal at VJH. He is a graduate of Quitman High School, he earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler, and his Master's from Texas A&M - Commerce. He is married to Brittani Whitten and has three children.

Mr. Whitten said, "I am looking forward to serving the students, staff, and community of Van ISD as the new principal at Van Junior High. I am blessed to work with an amazing team of educators at VJH who go above and beyond to prepare our students for success beyond the classroom. Van ISD is a community devoted to the academic excellence of our students, and we will continue to meet that expectation at Van Junior High. Go Vandals!"

Mrs. Williams (aka "Coach Williams") has worked in education for 14 years. She actually began her educational career right here at Van Junior High as a teacher and coach! She is a graduate of Brownsboro High School, and earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Central Arkansas.  She is married to Kendall Williams, and they have two children.
