Van ISD and Van Middle School are pleased to announce that Jeremy Peterson has been named the new principal at VMS!
Mr. Peterson has been in education for 18.5 years, all right here in Van ISD! He has served as a teacher, coach, and assistant principal, and most recently as the principal at Van Junior High. In 2012, Mr. Peterson was selected as the Teacher of the Year for Van Junior High, and Region 7 Assistant Principal of the Year in 2019.
Peterson is a graduate of Kirbyville High School, earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler, and his Master's from Lamar University. He is married to Erin Peterson, and has three children.
Mr. Peterson said, "I am extremely thrilled at the opportunity to work with the wonderful staff and students of Van Middle School. Middle school is a big step for the students of Van ISD. It's that bridge between elementary and secondary education, and I am glad I get to be a part of it."
Superintendent Don Dunn said, "Mr. Peterson brings a wealth of experience, a strong passion for education, and is well-equipped to guide Van Middle School toward continued growth and success."
